What linings are available for Made to Measure curtains?

The lining you choose affects light control, warmth, noise as well as how the curtains hang. We supply a range of curtain linings, here's how our options compare.

Standard lining: Our standard curtain lining helps protect your curtain fabric from sunlight and filters out some light.

Blackout lining: Our blackout curtain lining is a heavy weight lining that blocks out light so you can sleep undisturbed for longer. The blackout lining also helps minimise draughts in winter and keep heat out in summer, making it ideal for bedrooms and living rooms.

Thermal lining: Our thermal curtain lining is a great option for helping you lower energy use. When drawn, the thermal lining helps to keep the heat in during winter and keep the heat out during summer.

We have a range of curtain heading options to choose from to truly help you make your Made to Measure curtains your own. We also make all our Made to Measure curtains with 2x the fullness, which helps create a fuller look when the curtains are drawn.

Expert tip: If your bedroom faces east or gets early morning light, thermal or blackout lining will make the biggest difference to sleep quality. For living room spaces where you want the room brighter during the day, standard lining is usually more suitable.

What are the header options for Made to Measure curtains?

Our Made to Measure header options include:

3 inch pencil pleat: great for creating a traditional, simple and versatile option.

6 pinch pencil pleat: creates a deeper pleat than our standard 3 inch option and they work well with traditional décor to help create a classic look.

Eyelet: Eyelet curtains are the great option for easy installation. They provide a clean pleat and are quick and easy to attach to a curtain pole.

Pinch Pleat: Available through our stores and online. Pinch pleat gives you a timeless and luxurious look.

Wave: Currently available through our stores and online appointment only. Wave header curtains are great for modern homes as they offer a contemporary look. Wave header curtains stack back neatly when not drawn, maximising light and creating a wider looking window.

Because every curtain is made to order, accurate measuring matters more than with ready-made curtains.
